They are extremely versatile and enjoy spending time with their family, whether that means curling up next to their owners on the couch, snuggling under the covers in bed or taking part in more athletic pursuit like agility, flyball, hiking and running.
The Manchester Terrier is keenly observant, very responsive to his owner and may be discerning and reserved towards strangers. It is important that all Manchesters be properly socialized with people, children and other animals from an early age. Obedience classes are recommended and can provide an excellent opportunity for owners to bond with their new addition.
And what about kids? The breed can make an excellent addition to a young family, however puppies must be properly socialized with children from a young age. It is important that children are taught to treat all dogs respectfully. As a rule, no small child should be left unattended with any dog of any breed.
